Iris Conventions
We
encourage the formation of CIS/AIS affiliated local iris clubs and groups and you may list
your events here. Get some iris gardening friends together, name your club
and join the CIS. Create your own local iris sales, shows and other iris
events. Have fun! Even if you are just trying to start a club you could
post the contact info here for interested people in your area to refer to.

12th Annual Rare and Unusual Plant Sale,
Sponsor: Friends of the Central Experimental Farm
Neatby Building, Central Experimental Farm on Carling Avenue in Ottawa.
Time: 9am - 1pm
Admission: Donation to the Food Bank or $5.00.
This plant sale has been very successful over the years for all of the
local plant societies. This year we will have a large volume of very
modern median iris suitable for rock garden plantings, all overwintered
in 4" pots. Prices will be $5.00 or 5 for $20.00. Larger containers
remain at $8.00 or 3 for $20.00

The picnic is set for 1:00 p.m. and hot dogs and hamburgers will be
served and attendees are asked to bring either a salad or dessert.
Members of other horticultural societies that wish to enter the show in
the perennials class are welcome.

(CIS) Canadian Iris Society Iris Sale + CIS Annual General Meeting (AGM)
We welcome you to attend our sale.
Come out, say hello and pick up some really excellent high quality
irises at this event. The plants on offer are only American Iris Society
(AIS) registered and named iris cultivars. Ask us about the iris that
are for
sale or feel free to ask iris growing questions and we'll be glad to
advise and help.
The CIS Iris Sale is held as a fund raiser for the CIS and the sale is open to the public.
The CIS relies on the generous donations from members of registered
AIS iris varieties for this CIS iris sale. Please ensure that the iris brought for the sale/exchange/trade are
correctly named AIS registered iris cultivars only please. Donations of
sale iris are gladly received. Your support of the CIS is appreciated. The sale info plus a short informative article on how to dig, prepare and
donate irises for the sale is available here:

Beausejour, Manitoba
Beausejour Daylily Gardens located in the town of Beausejour,
Manitoba, 46 km north-east of Winnipeg. This two-acre community garden
has something blooming from spring to snowfall. The Beausejour
Daylily Gardens is the only American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) Display
Garden on the prairies. It is also home to the most amazing collection
of iris and peonies. June – iris,
peonies, lilac, and cherry blossoms. July - lilies, delphiniums, and
daylilies. August – daylilies, mums, picnic site, lawn checkers,
bocce, and tourist information. website:

a Zone 2b American Hemerocallis Society display garden and Canadian
Hemerocallis Society display garden.

OPEN each Friday and Saturday in May and the first weekend in June from 10:00
am to dark. Also, any time of year by appointment. Early in May, Rhodos
and Median iris are at their best and later in May and early June the
Tall Bearded and Siberians are blooming. (Note: a tour of three or four
Salt Spring gardens can be arranged if given two weeks notice).
